The delicate elegance and spectacular colours of Japanese Maples make them a firm favourite. Wonderful summer foliage colours range from bright green through crimson and bronze, to deep plum. In the autumn they change again, providing a spectacular finale to the season. All our varieties are container grown and range from young plants to mature specimens. Relatively easy to look after, they thrive best in a light loam and peat, a sheltered position in dappled shade and are hardy enough to withstand our winters. The familiar shape of the Maple leaf gives a strong appearance to many varieties. However the Disectum has a unique leaf form with its feathery fingers responding to the slightest breeze. Tall, open and slender, to short, round and compact, there is a variety that will do justice to any type of planting scheme, making the Japanese Maple suitable for gardens large or small.
